Our partner Guillaume Etier presented recent developments in extra-contractual liability and liability based on trust, during the 37th Law Marathon organised by the Geneva Bar Association.

Professional experience

Me Guillaume Etier is primarily active in Civil liability, Medical law and Health law.  He has an established reputation in all fields related to accidents and personal injuries. He is also specialised in construction law and public markets.

Me Guillaume Etier has been active for almost 20 years in legal field of accidents (road traffic accidents, train and airplane accidents etc.). He advises and represents both claimants and defendants, whether they are individuals or businesses, in relation to all aspects of civil liability.  He conducts his practice while establishing relationships of trust with his clientele.

Guillaume Etier has lectured on civil liability as part of the Master degree in civil and criminal at the University of Geneva for many years.  In 2012 he lectured on the roman foundations of private law at the University of Neuchâtel and the University of Geneva. 

Guillaume Etier also represents private clinics, medical centres, medical groups and doctors in complex fields such relationships with health insurers and health authorities, authorisations to practice and proceedings in front of the supervisory commission for health professionals and patients’ rights. 

His clientele includes many architects, engineering offices and several companies active in the construction industry. He acts on their behalf in court proceedings relating to public markets, and assists them in all legal aspects of their activities.

Guillaume Etier is also passionate about art, including music. He is an active member of several executive committees of cultural organisations such as ‘Vision du réel’ (an international movie festival) and ‘L’Elastique citrique’ (a large Swiss school for circus art). 

Guillaume Etier is one of the co-founders of Reiser Avocats. Prior to co-founding Reiser Avocats he practised at the Geneva Bar for almost 15 years within leading Genevan law firms (OHER Avocats ; BRS Avocats), including as a partner.
